European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Tuesday said Turkey was fully to blame for the breakdown of its EU accession talks and warned Ankara was fast withdrawing from Europe.

Juncker charged that "Turkey is withdrawing from Europe by giant steps," adding that it was up to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to officially call an end to Turkey's efforts to join the EU.
Juncker said he suspected that Erdogan was hoping that Europe would be the one to break off the talks "in order to blame the European Union" for their failure.
But the bloc must avoid "falling into the trap" as the "responsibility is entirely on the Turkish side," he told an annual conference of EU ambassadors in Brussels.
"The question is to know if we must put an end to the negotiations - which is a purely theoretical question as there are no negotiations."

HOUSTON, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Some big Houston-based companies and organizations on Monday called on Governor of Texas State Greg Abbott to block passage of the controversial bathroom bill.

Last Tuesday, Texas state senators voted to advance the latest bathroom bill to a final vote as early as Wednesday after an eight-hour debate.
The so-called bathroom bill, advocated by the majority Republican party for the sake of privacy, would regulate bathroom use in schools and buildings overseen by local government based on the sex listed on a person's birth certificate.
The vote came after police chiefs from around the state called on the Senate to abandon the bill. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said there is no crisis in bathrooms now and the legislature could be creating a distraction for police.
Advocates for the transgender community say the bill will force people who identify with one gender to use bathrooms with the opposite sex.
Almost all Democrats in the chamber voted against the bill which they labeled "discriminatory" toward Texas' transgender community. SRINAGAR Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Dove Salg Adidas Sko , Indian-controlled Kashmir, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- A fierce gunfight between militants and Indian troops broke out Tuesday in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
The gunfight erupted at Harkipora village of Pulwama district, about 27 km south of Srinagar city Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Rød Svart Nettbutikk , the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
"Gunfight broke out at village Harkipora this morning," a police official posted in Pulwama told Xinhua.
"The gunfight triggered after contingents of India troops and police encircled a locality on the intelligence information suggesting presence of militants in the area."
Police officials suspect two militants are holed up in the area.
Locals said they heard sound of gunfire in the village.
"We are being told militants are holed up in a residential house and heavy gunfire is audible from a distance," a local resident Bilal Ahmad said. "We have locked ourselves in our houses."
On Sunday, two militants belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant outfit were killed at village Tahab in the district.
A guerilla war is going on between militants and Indian troops stationed in Indian- controlled Kashmir since 1989. The gunfight between the two sides takes place intermittently across the region.
